About this app

BookBean is a free reading tracker, TBR organiser and visual bookshelf for readers who want to track every book they read, scan their library, and build a beautiful bookshelf they can show off.

Log what you are currently reading, build your TBR (to-be-read) pile, mark books want-to-read, reading, finished or did-not-finish, then watch your reading come to life on a real, visual shelf. And because BookBean is a reading community, you can discover your next book through real bookshops, libraries and charity shops near you.

TRACK YOUR READING
A full reading tracker, reading log and reading journal in one. Set reading goals, keep a reading streak alive, log reading sessions, and watch your reading stats, insights and year-in-books wrap grow. Discover your reading type and your reading pace. Made for readers, by readers.

BUILD YOUR BOOKSHELF
Scan a barcode or add a book by title and it appears on a visual bookshelf sized to the real book, spine, cover and sprayed edges. Organise your book collection into shelves, collections and themed bookcases, show off your signed copies and first editions, and make your shelfie yours with premium spines and shelf themes.

SCAN BOOKS IN SECONDS
The built-in ISBN barcode scanner adds books instantly, or snap the cover when there is no barcode. Import your existing library, including your Goodreads or StoryGraph CSV export, and switch over in minutes.

DISCOVER BOOKS IN THE REAL WORLD
This is what makes BookBean different. Open the map to find independent bookshops, second-hand and charity shops, libraries and cosy cafe reading nooks around you, with community check-ins and quests. Find your next read where books actually live.

READ WITH FRIENDS
Connect with friends and reading buddies, see what they are reading, join reading challenges, buddy reads and book clubs, and keep each other's streaks alive. Made for BookTok and bookstagram readers. Reading is better shared.

FOR EVERY READER
Whether you want a simple book tracker, a detailed reading journal, a book cataloguer and organiser, a Goodreads or StoryGraph alternative, or a whole reading community to belong to, BookBean grows with you, from romantasy and fantasy to romance, thrillers, classics and non-fiction.
