Know how to navigate bugs (and be sure to read Terms & Conditions) 1. If you need to create an account, try doing it on your computer first and log in. Otherwise, don't connect to your Facebook account. Create a new account and it will load for a long time. Exit out of the app, open it again, and log in. It will remember your profile. 2. When you do an interview, don't save it to your device before uploading it. Upload it immediately, being sure to include all required content including images. Otherwise it won't let you upload it and you could lose your interview.
WARNING...They own your content Great concept and was excited until I read their terms which most probably don't. They own all rights to anything uploaded. You don't own your stories which means most likely there's no privacy either. Will be dumping this app. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT YOU SHALL HAVE NO OWNERSHIP OR OTHER PROPERTY INTEREST IN ANY ACCOUNT STORED OR HOSTED ON THE SERVICES. ALL RIGHTS IN AND TO SUCH ACCOUNTS ARE AND WILL FOREVER BE OWNED BY AND INURE SOLELY TO THE BENEFIT OF STORYCORPS
No audio Concept is good but I recorded 2 interviews and neither of them played. Maybe works for iPhone only? If so, not cool storycorps, not cool. It also won't let me publish any of my interviews. I don't know why this app gets high ratings. If see this or even care, don't give me some generic response. FIX IT. Start LISTENING. No one in the comments finds this funny. This is for a class project and I WANT to use it . . . . I just cant.
Can't log in I think that I would love this app, but I tried to create the account through my Facebook page. It just keeps telling me that I can't log into my account through Facebook because the account doesn't exist. So, when I try to log create a Facebook account it tells me that the account already exists. There's literally no way for me to log into this page now because it won't let me use my email address to create a username becit says that that account already exists. Very frustrated
So disappointed. I love the StoryCorps podcast and was excited to record my grandmother's memories and hopes before she passes. That excitement was quickly destroyed when I discovered that this app doesn't work at all. I had a hard time logging in, and as a previous review mentioned, the app would not let me log in with my Facebook account. I recorded a test session and I cannot get it to play back at all. Please fix this app or disable it until you do. People are losing important moments.
It'll take some doing to get this app to work properly, but once it works, it's a decent app, walking you through the interview process. Gives the option of saving it as a draft on your phone, which is nice. Here's where I had problems: Wouldn't accept a FB-linked account, then froze when I created my account manually. Had to do a "force stop' but the account apparently did go through, as I then was able to log in. My first recording did not record. It showed the recording as being there but nothing was there. Closed the app, logged back in, and then was able to get the App to start recording properly. I reported this problem to the StoryCorp website this morning. Recommend doing some "practice recordings" prior to your actual interview, to make sure it's working properly and you don't lose a valuable interview.
