About this app

Your journal is the most private thing you write. Canto keeps it that way.

Everything you write is encrypted on your device before it's saved. No one can read your entries — not us, not your cloud provider, not anyone. Only you hold the key.

Canto is fully open source. Every line of code is public, so you don't have to take our word for it — you can check for yourself.

ENCRYPTED BY DEFAULT
Your journal is encrypted on your device using the same standard trusted by banks and governments (AES-256). A device key is stored securely in Android Keystore. You can also add a password for an extra layer of protection, with biometric unlock for convenience.

NOT AI TRAINING DATA
Canto has no analytics, no trackers, no ads, and no crash reporting. Your journal never leaves your device unless you choose to export or sync it. Your thoughts are yours — never collected, never sold, never used to train AI.

TAKE YOUR DATA ANYWHERE
Export your journal anytime as an encrypted backup file. Import it on another device or keep it for safekeeping. No lock-in.
