The Barrier Tracker app is part of the AMBER project.
AMBER stands for Adaptive Management of Barriers in European Rivers. It is a research project funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme. The project applies adaptive management to the operation of barriers in European rivers, aiming to improve stream connectivity and reduce the ecological impacts of river fragmentation.
Barrier Tracker v2 allows users to record and classify both longitudinal and lateral barriers in rivers, contributing valuable data for research and conservation. The app is developed and maintained by Blue Rivers Foundation (BRF), supporting citizen science and freshwater research.
