I hope there's a way to use Briiv without the app because as of this morning I can't log in any more and my Briivs all lock up after a few minutes when I restart them. If I turn them on while responsive, they'll stay on, but they then can't be turned off without a power cycle. This app has never been good but now it's unusable. Before I'd say it was a polished turd. Now it's just a dessicated turd.

Virtually useless app. Unable to connect to the Briiv from my Android phone, since the app's prompts contradict what it says to do earlier in the sequence regarding no password required, then asks for SSID and password. On-line instructions and in app instructions give no information as to what the entries should be. And the whole process hints that you will need to switch between your home wireless and a Briiv wireless network to use the app. Not very practical and not standard at all.

If you have a newer 2.0 device, then dump this app and look for the 2.0 version. I had this app, in order to control an older product -- but I didn't know there was a newer one, and spent three hours trying to get it to link to a new device. So, the instructions are appalling, and a proper developer should be able to combine the two. Briiv is great as an air filter, but I would not recommend it because of it's poor connectivity -- I've written a slightly better review for their newer app.
