For over 50 years, regular excavations have been taking place at Bromacker. Here, researchers find both the footprints and skeletons of the animals that created them. This is unique worldwide! But the fossil site has even more to offer: From prehistoric reptiles and their traces of life to insects, millipedes, and plants, a complete ecosystem has been preserved here. Furthermore, even the weather of that time has left its stony mark, with traces of raindrops, puddles, and periods of drought.
