Overview
CrystalEngine finds files on Android by content, not name, and opens them in its own viewer; music, video, a gallery and file management are built in. Indexing and search run on the device, not through a server.
Search engine
Indexed: document text (docx, xlsx, pptx, PDF, TXT, HWP, HWPX), text in photos and speech in recordings. Matches are highlighted. Contacts and calendar are sensitive: off by default, indexed only when enabled.
Korean search matches partial words and initial consonants ('견적' finds '재견적서'). Tests keep search within 58.4 ms on 100,000 indexed rows; a build over 0.1 s fails and is not released. New files are indexed on pressing Scan; with Auto scan on in Settings, changes are checked automatically and new files were indexed within 15 s on a tablet.
Operators: type:, filetype:, in:, intitle:, intext:, size:, before:, after:, exclusion (-), exact phrase (""), AND (&), OR and NEAR. A mistyped operator is not corrected, only the right form is suggested. At zero results, loosening quotes, dates or filters is suggested only where results follow.
The Korean text-recognition model is built in; transcription and similar-image models download once, then run only on the device. Voice search is included.
Similar-image search takes a gallery or camera photo, or a region of one; a first pass over 20,000 photos took 1.18 ms.
Document viewer
Documents open in-app: HWP, HWPX, PDF, docx, xlsx, pptx, TXT, MD, CSV, RTF, with find, bookmarks, outline jumps, PDF highlighting, text copy and share. PDF stays sharp when zoomed, paged or scrolled. HWP renders in-app since Korean public-office documents are mostly HWP.
Music, video and photos
Music: 10-band parametric EQ (PEQ-10), seven sound rack modules (tube preamp, tape saturation, vinyl deck, space reverb and others) with A/B against the original, quick-start presets (vocal, bass, analog, outdoor), spinning LP art, jog-wheel seeking, crossfade, gapless, ReplayGain and resume. Lyrics (tags, .lrc or typed) stay on the device.
Video: playback speed, SRT and SMI subtitles, brightness and volume gestures, popup playback, resume and A-B repeat. Chromecast and DLNA cast music and video. Photos pinch-zoom and show EXIF (date, device).
File management
Copy and move show progress and can be cancelled. Trash, ZIP pack/unpack, large-file cleanup and a storage dashboard are included. Renaming a file updates the index. Duplicates are shortlisted by size and confirmed by SHA-256.
'My Phone's Footprints' gathers daily traces (photos, music, searches). Call recordings and app usage are sensitive, so they are off by default and recorded only when enabled; one switch turns it all off.
Processing and privacy
Indexing, search, text recognition, transcription and image comparison run on the device; once a model is downloaded, search works in airplane mode. There is no account or sign-in, and the index is stored encrypted (the app warns in the rare case the device security key is unavailable). File contents are not transmitted off the phone.
Map tiles, album art and model downloads go online only behind a network switch, off by default. Photo coordinates become an address via a system service when enabled. Voice search tries the on-device recognizer first; without one it uses the system recognizer and the audio leaves the device. See Data safety.
Terms of use
No persistent banners, interstitials or launch ads. The first 5 launches are free; then watching one ad in full opens a 24-hour pass, or one lifetime purchase keeps it ad-free. No feature has a separate usage limit. Google Play shows the local price.
