Amazing app After using both mx and bs player apps in common situations I have found that bs player works better than most others for .avi format video
Would have given it 5 stars awhile ago weren;t it for the latest versions having sync problems. Audio and video slowly start going off sync as you play. I sincerely hope this gets fixed soon or I will have to start looking for an alternative.
as others say, quality going down lately. Many silly crashes (eg just open the app will show a crash triangle, MKVs with 60fps video go out of sync within seconds (at a 1s audio delay per 10s of video!), my dreambox HD .264 streams becomes virtually impossible to display now (HW and SW mode stutters, freezes, huge artifacts, worked perfect before,, so switched to VLC for that) and the app crashes always when you cancel opening a network stream. Sad, it used to be the best, playing everything smoothly, whatever you threw at it.
I've been using this app for the past 2 years and loved it at first, but lately it's been suffering from performance issues. I like to watch my videos at 2x playback speed, and with BS Player, I normally have to set it at 1.9x or else it will lose the sync between audio and video. Also, it seems like everytime BS Player is updated, I have to switch the decoding mode between Software Mode and Hardware Mode. I prefer Software Mode because with Hardware Mode, the player tends to crash and restart the video, making me lose my place. But Software Mode can't keep up with the 1.9x playback speed. I currenly own a Nexus 6P, and after the latest March security patches, it crashes on Hardware Mode every 5 minutes. I tread clearing out my cache partition and no luck. I am starting to use a different player now, but it lacks a lot of features BS Player has, but at least it can keep up with 2x playback speed and has not crashed once.
Please fix the audio sync issue. This used to be my favorite player on Android, but not any more. Since my Xperia Z3 tablet upgraded to Marshmallow the sound is no longer in sync with the picture. It looses about 1s per 10s video played on MKV and MP4 files. This happens ONLY on my Marshmallow devices. Plays fine on an old KitKat device! So developers, please address this problem asap, and I will reconsidder my rating.
LAN login suddenly won't work no matter what Worked fine ever since last update, but now it's constant crashes. This became a useless player. Plus I hate how the volume touch input freezes every time on any device I own.
