Measure download speed, upload speed and latency. See what your result means for everyday tasks, and keep a record when a test fails in poor signal.

RECORD A JOURNEY
Start a journey to record a route and run signal tests as you travel. Choose Data Saver or More Tests, pause when you need to, and review the results afterwards. An ongoing notification lets you see and control recording when the screen is locked.

CHOOSE WHAT TO SHARE
Send selected tests or a completed journey’s tests to Buffering Britain. If the connection drops, the app saves your authorised submission and continues delivery automatically when it can. You can also export your records and review a case-study email before sending it.

No account is required and there are no adverts. Tests and routes are stored on your device by default. Location permission is used to place tests and record journeys. Speed tests use data, so your mobile plan’s charges and allowances apply.

Buffering Britain is a non-partisan campaign to improve mobile signal and mobile infrastructure delivery across the UK.
