About this app

Bunko is an EPUB reader and ebook reader for books you already own. Import your files, build a personal library and read offline without creating an account. Adjust the text and theme, save highlights and notes, and continue where you left off.

READ ALOUD
Have any book read to you with text-to-speech at four speeds. The spoken sentence is highlighted on the page, and pages turn by themselves.

Tap a selection to see an instant translation and dictionary meanings without leaving the page.

READING STATS AND STREAKS
Your daily reading time and streak are counted automatically, on your device. See a weekly chart, totals and records, and your most-read book. At the end of the year, Bunko Recap turns your reading year into a shareable card. Keep a seven-day streak and three days of Bunko Pro are on us.

BACKUP
Save your notes, progress and stats to a single file in your own Google Drive or iCloud, and restore them on a new phone.

ONE LIBRARY, EVERY FORMAT
Open EPUB, PDF, Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx), plain text and CBZ comics, and browse inside ZIP and RAR archives, all from one shelf. Filter by format, search by title or author, sort by title, author, size, date added or last read, or arrange the shelf by hand with drag and drop. Group books into collections.

BUNKO PRO
The free version allows up to 10 book imports.
Bunko is free to use. An optional subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase, unlocks an unlimited library, read-aloud, translation and dictionary, detailed statistics and Bunko Recap, Markdown export, backup, slide and fade page turns, paper textures, extra palettes, unlimited collections and watermark-free quote cards. Pro also removes ads.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Read imported books offline. Translation and dictionary lookup require internet access and send the selected text to Google. Bunko uses Firebase Analytics for usage analytics, AdMob for ads and RevenueCat for purchases. Ads may appear in the library; Bunko Pro removes them. See the privacy policy for details.
