About this app
BUSU is a dictionary app that allows you to find Chinese characters quickly and accurately.
You can find the character you want using four methods, ranging from the radical search method found in traditional dictionaries to handwriting recognition.
■ Four Search Methods
· Search by Radical
This is the traditional dictionary method where you select from 214 radicals and narrow down the search based on the number of strokes. Radicals are organized by stroke count, allowing you to find them at a glance.
· Search by Stroke Count
Select the total stroke count to group characters with the same number of strokes.
· Search by Pronunciation
Search by Korean pronunciation (e.g., "gyo", "in"). It finds related characters even if you enter only a part of the pronunciation.
· Search by Handwriting
Write the character directly on the screen for recognition. You can find the character even if you do not know the character, as long as you recognize its shape. ■ Abundant Resources
· Includes over 77,000 Hanja characters
· Pronunciation, meaning, radical, number of strokes for radical, number of strokes for other characters, and total strokes for each character
· Chinese pronunciation and the four tones
· Includes all characters with multiple pronunciations and meanings if they exist within a single character
Tap a character to view the radical, stroke count, and all pronunciations and meanings in detail, along with enlarged text.
■ Clear Display
Utilizing built-in dedicated fonts, even rare Hanja characters in the CJK Extended Region that appear distorted in standard fonts are displayed accurately.
■ Offline Support
All dictionary data is embedded within the app, allowing it to operate without an internet connection.
(Internet access is required only for the handwriting recognition function to download the recognition model the first time.)
Use it for learning Classical Chinese, preparing for Hanja proficiency exams, or searching for classics, calligraphy, and names.
