Simple, open source, free and syncs flawlessly. Couldn't ask for more and it's nice to have control over my credentials. I use it on every device I have and every browser. I keep my credentials centrally on my own NAS for security and it is a very simple process. plus as it's open source, I have much more control to vendor it for myself and manage myself. I'm not sure why people keep having issues with it. It gives you every option necessary how and where you want to host your credentials.

I use firefox for browser and I have few comments. Getting the prompt to use buttercup to fill the password is inconsistent most of the time it fades before I click anything. In your website you claim to have security overlay when app is minimized, that doesn't work. I can't load a local vault that I export it from my computer, no way to import it. The password generator generated password with lower and upper case without digits few times even though i only included these three. Good luck.

For some reason the offline feature doesn't work sometimes. Furthermore, the app doesn't support using local files as vaults. In light of these issues, I can't give the app 5 stars, but Buttercup is cross-platform, easy to use, open source, and the desktop app has every feature you could want.
