Local File Share lets you send and receive files between nearby phones and computers over the same Wi-Fi or hotspot network. Files go directly from device to device, without a cable and without uploading them to a cloud service.
SEND AND RECEIVE NEARBY
- Pick photos, videos, music, documents or app installation files (APK) and add them to your share queue.
- Nearby devices running Local File Share on the same network appear in the Nearby Radar. Tap a receiver to send your queued files.
- Switch to Receive mode to accept files from other devices.
- Add a device manually with its IP address and port, or show a QR code that another phone can scan with its camera to connect.
- Follow the progress and history of your transfers.
SHARE WITH A PC OR ANY BROWSER
- WebDrop turns your phone into a local web portal. Open the address shown in the app in any browser on the same network.
- Download the files in your share queue, or download them all as one ZIP file.
- Upload files from a computer to your phone from the browser.
- Show a QR code so another phone can open the link quickly.
BROWSE AND PREVIEW YOUR FILES
- Browse files by category: photos, videos, music, documents, apps and received files.
- Search, select several files at once and mark favorites.
- Preview images, play videos and audio, read PDF pages and view file details before sharing.
TOOLS
- Images to PDF: combine images into one PDF document.
- PDF to images: save PDF pages as separate images or as one long image.
- Video to audio: extract the audio track of a video into an audio file.
- Safe Box: move private files into a PIN-protected box where they are encrypted on your device.
- Storage cleaner: find and remove temporary, cache and duplicate files created inside the app.
SETTINGS
- Choose the local port used for transfers and WebDrop.
- Optional large socket buffer for local network throughput.
- Light and dark themes.
- Set your device nickname and avatar color so others recognize you.
GOOD TO KNOW
- Both devices must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network or hotspot.
- Local transfers do not upload your files to the internet. WebDrop has no password, so use it on networks you trust.
- Photos and videos are chosen with the Android photo picker, so the app does not need access to your whole photo library. Music access is used to list audio files.
- Location or Nearby Wi-Fi devices permission is required by Android for local network discovery.
- Local File Share is free and contains ads.
