About this app

Bluetooth Finder: Hot/Cold helps you locate a lost Bluetooth device nearby using signal strength (RSSI). Walk around and watch the Hot/Cold indicator update in real time—when the signal gets stronger, you’re getting closer.

How it works

Start scanning for nearby Bluetooth devices

Select your device from the list (use search to find it faster)

Move around and follow the Hot/Cold proximity feedback until you find it

Key features

Nearby Bluetooth scanning (BLE + Classic where supported)

Hot/Cold proximity meter based on signal strength (RSSI)

Search bar: matching device names are shown first; if none match, you’ll see “No device found for …”

My devices: save devices for quicker finding next time

Last seen for saved devices (timestamp + last RSSI)

Full device identifier shown in the list to help you distinguish devices with similar names

Haptic guidance (default ON): phone vibration pulses faster as you get closer

Optional sound guidance (default OFF): phone chirps faster as you get closer

Important limitations (please read)

This app can only detect devices that are powered on and broadcasting Bluetooth.

Signal strength is not exact distance—walls, metal, pockets, and reflections can affect readings.

If a device is out of range or not broadcasting, it may not appear.

Permissions

Android requires Bluetooth permissions to scan for nearby devices. On some Android versions, the system may also require Location permission to perform Bluetooth scanning. The app uses permissions only to provide scanning and proximity guidance.

Privacy

No account required

Local-only: your saved devices and “last seen” info stay on your phone

No selling or sharing of your Bluetooth scan results

If you want, tell me whether your app will have ads / analytics / crash reporting (even later). I’ll adjust the description to match your Data Safety answers so you don’t get policy mismatches during review.
