Ten strings in five pairs, and ten pegs that all look alike: the hard part of tuning a
charango is knowing which peg to turn. Charango shows you the headstock, marks the peg for
the string you are tuning, and tells you exactly how far off it is.

Then it hands you the instrument. In Simulation the charango is on your screen: strum across
the strings, or touch one to pluck it.

• Tuner: all ten strings, peg by peg, with a live needle that never flashes "in tune" early
• Nine tunings: temple natural, temple diablo, the transposed temples, and the ronroco and
walaycho sizes
• Simulation: a charango you can play, pluck a string or strum all ten
• Chords: 168 chords (12 roots, 14 types), up to three fingerings each, drawn for the
charango's five courses
• Learn: four charango courses (33 lessons) plus ten practice drills: ear training, melodic
dictation, fretboard, intervals, chord changes, timing, rhythm, scales, sight reading and
strumming
• Tools: metronome, drone, scales, chord and scale, circle of fifths, capo and transpose,
practice recorder, overtones and String Health
• 12 colour palettes, light and dark themes, left-handed mode

Everything is included: no subscription, no account and nothing to buy inside the app. It all
works offline, and Charango collects no data: see the Data safety section below.

What’s new

Fixes the practice notification: when you pause the drone or metronome from the lock screen, it now names only what was actually playing. Pausing the metronome on its own used to read "Drone + Metronome" even with the drone switched off.
