The aim of my thesis is to develop a machine learning solution that is capable of identifying freshwater fish species living in Hungary based on images. The technological development of recent years - especially in the field of deep learning and machine vision - has made it possible to create more accurate and reliable systems for recognizing species living in the natural environment. One of the most important elements of my project is a community-based data collection platform that allows users to actively participate in research by uploading their own fish images. This not only facilitates the creation of the necessary data set, but also strengthens the commitment to nature.
