Does your child lisp or have trouble pronouncing the /s/ sound? Susi the Snake is here to help.

Pronouncing the /s/ sound is a children's speech therapy app designed to help children aged 4 to 8 learn to pronounce the /s/ sound in a fun and progressive way. Join Susi, a friendly snake, along a path of stones where each stop is a new exercise.

This is a supplementary resource for practicing at home: it does not replace the assessment or treatment of a speech therapist, but rather complements it between sessions.

🎯 PROGRESSIVE LEARNING
Follow the classic speech therapy ladder, in 5 levels:
• Level 1 — The S sound at the beginning: isolated sound, direct syllables (sa, se, si, so, su) and first words (sol, sopa, silla)
• Level 2 — The S sound in reverse: reverse syllables (as, es, is, os, us) and words (este, mosca, fiesta)
• Level 3 — The S sound in consonant clusters: S sounds (espejo, escoba, estrella)
• Level 4 — The S sound in the middle and at the end: casa, oso, vaso, lunes, dos… with the live "sisometer"
• Level 5 — Champion: phrases, tongue twisters, and generalization to speech

A live meter listens to the airflow of the /s/ sound and encourages the child to sustain a clean and continuous hiss, like a snake: ssss.

🎥 VIDEOS AND ARTICULATION GUIDE
Susi demonstrates in a video how to do each exercise (thin breath, teeth smile, long hiss), and a reference image shows the exact posture: the tip of the tongue behind the upper teeth, without touching them, and the air through the center.

🎤 VOICE AUDIO ON THE DEVICE
The app listens to the child and gives them stars based on how well the "S" sounds, with tips if they lisp or have air leaks. They can try as many times as they want. All the analysis is done on the device.

In Latin America, the Z and C before e/i sound the same as the S: therefore, the goal is a clear /s/ sound to counteract lisping (that "th" sound with the tongue between the teeth), which is the most common error.
