Truple - Porn Filter is a lightweight DNS filter

**** Filter locking is designed for stock android OS. If your device uses a highly modified android OS, it may not work properly.

Some internet service providers (ISP) may block the DNS filtering service. Unfortunately the only people who can "fix" this are your network administrators and/or your ISP.

This app uses Accessibility services. It uses the BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE permission in order to lock the filter and provide blocking functionality.

This app uses the Device Administrator permission. The Device Administrator permission is used to prevent "force stop" and "uninstall" attempts when the filter is locked.

Ratings and reviews

Lightweight, simple, and the app blocking feature is great. However, it's a bit too comprehensive. I only downloaded it today, am using the lowest level filter, and already ran into two innocent websites being unaccessible (ChumpLady, a blog for betrayed partners, and a GitHub archive). I can't find any way to whitelist specific sites so not sure if it will work for me. Kind of a bummer since I'm already paying for the accountability app.

I downloaded this app a year ago, and it worked, until it didn't. I actually had pretty high regard for it, but they give you the adult option, adult + mixed etc, and to activate either of these options, you have to choose the private DNS hostname "Truple" which is pre-filled. Maybe this is a problem on my end, but everytime I choose the the private DNS hostname, and select "Save" it always returns saying "Couldn't connect." Maybe this is something wrong with my phone, but I kinda doubt it.

All in all a good app, with a good filter. Sometimes a bit oversensitive, but that's how it is sometimes. The lock works well, however it's a pity the pin and delay unlock cannot be combined, you either settle with the delay without the pin or pin without delay. If you plan to use the app without subscription, the important parts work very well. If you want the subscription if those limitations don't bother you, it's also worth it. All in all, would recommend.
