About this app

At Motive Financial (Motive) we understand you’re always on the move. Now, your money can move with you with Motive Financial’s mobile app. Get up-to-date account balances, view transactions, pay bills, and transfer money all from the convenience of your mobile device.

Motive Mobile is compatible with Android operating systems 4.1 and higher. To use the app, you must be signed up for Motive Financial Online Banking. If you have lost your online banking personal access code, phone Motive at 1-877-441-2249. Your login information for Motive Mobile is the same as for your Motive Online Banking.

With Motive Financial’s mobile app, you can:
• Quickly view your account balances
• Manage multiple accounts
• View previous and upcoming transactions
• Pay bills and transfer money now or schedule future payments
• Send and receive Interac® e-Transfers
• Find nearby ATMs

To use Motive Mobile, you will need to grant the app permission to access the following functions:
• Approximate location – allows you to use your device’s GPS to find an ATM. This can be turned off after the app installation by turning off the phone’s GPS.
• Full network access – allows Motive Mobile to connect to the Internet so you can do your mobile banking.
• Take pictures and videos – Motive Mobile does not currently have remote deposit capability, but permission to take photos and video is required to allow the app to download.

I opened this account for a 52 week savings challenge. It has been least innovative and creative experience using this banking app. It practically does nothing other than shows balance. I had to run to a computer to set up the automatic transfers into the account. No biometric, no mobile deposits, no modifications to tenderers can be done within the app. The app is slow, buggy and quite frankly, just way outdated.

Can't customize alerts for balance activity, no biometrics support, no dark theme, can't allow quick view for specific accounts, no EFT support in app nor can you see how much is pending for transfer, can't schedule e-Transfers, can't register phone number for e-Transfer autodeposit, linking accounts is a hassle (requires emailing a filled form), confusing balance descriptions and errors (eg. "standing order" for scheduled transfers, "PAP credit payment" for EFTs). Sometimes can't log in.

does not accept VoIP phone number so cannot sign up, waited over 30 minutes on hold to try to clear this up and no answer. I did send in repeated emails weeks ago with no response, I guess you don't want new clients. sending emails does nothing but waste time and effort, nothing solved yet. Further, you have to fill out forms and submit voided cheques to link external accounts and the wait through the automated phone system to talk to a human to tell them the two micro deposits. not very CS frie
