About this app

Learn to read the sky yourself, like a game. Cap Céleste doesn't just name the stars: it lets you play so you can recognize them with the naked eye, without a screen.

You're given a name, and it's up to you to find the shape above you. Mission after mission, night after night, the sky becomes familiar.

A GAME TO LEARN ABOUT THE SKY
• A journey in 15 chapters, from the first landmark to the final exam under the real sky
• Missions: You're given a name, you find the constellation in the sky
• Star trails to move from one constellation to another, just like real observers
• Points, hints when you get stuck, and an exam where the sky blurs to test your memory
• The evening challenge, your series, badges and ranks to come back every night
• A lesson to understand which way the sky rotates
• Even during the day, play with the planets of the solar system

THE REAL SKY, LIVE
Raise your phone: Cap Céleste shows you what's above you, right now, where you are.

• Tonight's sky, calculated for your location and time

• Live view of the International Space Station, and a search function to find any celestial object with a single tap
• Look down: the ground disappears, revealing the sky of the opposite hemisphere
