About this app

CarbonCart helps you better understand the carbon footprint of your everyday shopping.

Scan a receipt or an item, check the detected products, choose categories if needed, and then get a simple estimate of your shopping basket's carbon footprint.

With CarbonCart, you can:
• scan a receipt;

• scan an item via barcode;

• check, correct, or ignore detected products;

• choose a category to refine the calculation;

• save your analyses in your history;

• track your progress;

• unlock motivating badges.

CarbonCart was also designed as a collaborative application. The more users correct products, choose the right categories, and enrich the data, the more the application can improve and gradually refine its estimates.

The goal is not to make anyone feel guilty, but to help everyone visualize the impact of their shopping, understand their habits, and progress at their own pace.

To make this progress more motivating, CarbonCart incorporates a gamified element: carbon score, history, goals, badges, and rewards encourage users to track their progress and improve their results over time.

The displayed results are indicative estimates. They do not replace an official, certified, or regulatory carbon analysis.

CarbonCart contains no advertising and does not sell user data.
