About this app

C.A.R.E. SimPace turns two devices into a temporary pacemaker training station.
One device becomes the bedside monitor and generator the learner works on. The
other becomes the instructor's live control, driving the rhythm and injecting
faults in real time. They pair directly over your local Wi-Fi — no account, no
server, no internet connection.

Temporary pacing is a skill that is hard to practise safely. Real patients are
not available for repetition, and classroom slides cannot reproduce the pressure
of watching a rhythm deteriorate while you troubleshoot. SimPace gives learners
that repetition with synthetic patients.


WHAT THE LEARNER SEES

• A bedside monitor with live ECG and pleth waveforms, HR, ABP, SpO2 and RR
• A temporary pacemaker generator with rate, atrial and ventricular output,
sensitivity, and AV delay
• Eight pacing modes — AOO, VOO, DOO, AAI, VVI, DDD, DVI, DDI
• Rapid atrial pacing for terminating re-entrant flutter
• Sense and pace indicators that respond as settings change


WHAT THE INSTRUCTOR CONTROLS

• Underlying rhythm — normal sinus, sinus brady, third-degree AV block,
junctional, atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, V-tach, V-fib, asystole
• Intrinsic rate
• Fault injection — failure to capture, undersensing, oversensing from EMI,
lead fracture, battery depletion, loss of output, runaway pacemaker, and
pacemaker-mediated tachycardia
• Session timing, pause and reset


BUILT-IN SCENARIOS

• Failure to Capture — spikes with no response; the learner must raise output
• Undersensing — the pacer competes with the native rhythm; adjust sensitivity
• R-on-T to V-Fib Arrest — an unsensed spike lands on the T wave and induces
V-fib if it is not caught in time
• Baseline Competency — set up DDD pacing correctly on a post-op third-degree
block
• Atrial Flutter with RAP — terminate re-entrant flutter using rapid atrial
burst pacing

An instructor can also run Free Play and drive the rhythm by hand.


HOW PAIRING WORKS

The learner device advertises a session on the local network and displays a
four-digit PIN. The instructor picks the session, enters the PIN, and the two
stay in sync. Both devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network. Nothing is sent
off that network, and there is no cloud service behind it.

An instructor can also run solo on a single device without pairing, which is
useful for demonstration or for exploring the app alone.


WHO IT IS FOR

Critical care and cardiac nurses, nurse educators, residents and fellows,
perfusionists, simulation centres, and anyone responsible for teaching temporary
pacing.


IMPORTANT

C.A.R.E. SimPace is a training simulator. It is not a medical device, and it must
not be used for diagnosis, treatment, or any clinical decision. Every patient,
waveform, and value in the app is synthetic.


SUBSCRIPTION

Full access requires a subscription — 8.99 USD per month or 89.99 USD per year,
with a 3-day free trial. Prices in other currencies are shown before purchase.
The trial is available once per customer. Subscriptions renew automatically
unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends, and can be managed or
cancelled at any time in the Google Play Store under Payments and subscriptions.
