CareBridge is a passive activity monitor for loved ones living alone. It runs silently on your loved one's Android phone — no GPS, no microphone, no daily check-in prompts — and alerts you only when their phone activity stops for longer than you've configured.
WHAT IT DOES
• The app watches whether the screen has been on recently — a simple yes/no.
• Sends a heartbeat every 15 minutes so the backend knows the phone is alive.
• Alerts the caregiver by push and email when the phone goes silent past the threshold.
• Up to 4 trusted contacts can receive alerts by email.
SETUP HAPPENS ON THE WEB
This app is the companion device side of CareBridge. All configuration — sleep hours, inactivity threshold, trusted contacts, subscription — lives on the caregiver's web dashboard at carebridge.family. The caregiver signs up there, generates an activation code, then enters it in this app once. After that, settings are managed from the dashboard — no need to touch the monitored phone again.
PRIVACY BY DESIGN
CareBridge is built around informed consent. The monitored person must agree on first launch before the app starts working. Data is encrypted in transit, processed by Firebase (Google), and never sold or shared for marketing.
IMPORTANT
CareBridge is not a medical device. It does not call emergency services and does not detect falls. It is an early-warning signal — a small piece of information that helps you check in sooner. In a real emergency, always call your local emergency number.
