Pull the steak off the heat and the clock starts, but so does the guessing. Cut too soon and the juice runs onto the board; wait too long and dinner is lukewarm.
Carryover Meat Rest Timer is a countdown built for the resting stage, with the times already loaded.
Eight presets ship with the app, grouped as steak, poultry, roasts and fish:
• Ribeye or strip steak, 5 minutes
• Thick bone-in steak, 8 minutes
• Chicken breast, 5 minutes
• Whole roast chicken, 15 minutes
• Pork chop or loin, 7 minutes
• Prime rib roast, 15 minutes
• Salmon fillet, 3 minutes
• Roast fish or halibut, 5 minutes
Tap a preset to read its chef note (foil tenting, cut thickness, why the time is what it is) and hit Start Rest. A circular dial counts down in minutes and seconds, and you can pause, resume, add a minute or reset. Filter chips narrow the library to one meat type, and a short card explains what resting does: cooking drives juices to the centre, and the pause lets the fibres relax so moisture spreads back through the cut.
Cooking something else? Start a quick custom timer in minutes and seconds, or save your own preset with a name, category, duration and notes. Your own presets can be deleted; the built-in ones stay.
When the rest is up, your device alarm tone plays and the phone vibrates. Tapping Serve and Enjoy stops it.
VIBRATE is the only permission the app requests, used for that alarm. There is no network access, no account, no ads and no tracking. Your presets stay on the phone.
