Your files. Your folder. Your player.
Music Player is a local library app. There is no catalog, no account, and no stream. You point it at a folder on the device or an SD card and it builds an artist and album list from what is already there.
PICK A FOLDER
Use Set Folder to grant access to a music directory. The app remembers that tree and can re-index when you add files. Indexing shows progress while titles, artists, albums, track numbers, and embedded artwork are read.
BROWSE
Artists, then albums, then tracks. Open an artist to see their albums. Open an album to see the track list, ordered by track number. Play an artist, an album, or a single track. A mini player stays on the library screens so you can keep browsing while something is already on.
NOW PLAYING
Full-screen now playing with artwork, seek, skip, shuffle, and repeat (off, all, one). Playback continues in the background with a media notification. Headphones unplug and audio focus are handled by the system player.
FORMATS
MP3, M4A, AAC, FLAC, OGG, Opus, WAV, ALAC, and AIFF / AIF / AIFC. AIFF is a first-class citizen: the player includes its own AIFF decoder and tag reader so PCM AIFF libraries (including AIFC NONE / twos / sowt) play and show metadata instead of showing up as unnamed files.
TAGS
Embedded tags first. If a file is thin on metadata, the indexer can fall back to MediaMetadataRetriever and then to a simple Artist/Album/file layout from the folder path. Artwork is cached so the library does not re-decode every cover on each launch.
WHAT THIS APP IS NOT
Not a store. Not a locker. Not a recommendation engine. No ads, no in-app purchases, no sign-in. Rankings and cloud libraries are someone else's product.
