About this app

EXIMPay+ is a mobile-based service for user authentication, payment (electronic wallet), and tax refunds. Everything runs directly on your phone, so you do not need to fill out paper forms or queue at an airport kiosk.

[EXIMPay+ Main Services]
1. Verification Service
Verify your identity online using your personal information. Easily complete identity checks requested by online duty-free stores and airlines.
2. Card Wallet Payment
Register your payment card and make secure payments. Pay in your card's home currency instead of Korean Won (KRW) with built-in 3-D Secure card issuer verification.
3. Mobile Passport
Generate a passport QR code for offline verification. Present it to staff without handling your physical document.
4. KYC
Submit your KYC data to merchants requesting it to fulfill KYC requirements.
5. Tax Refund
Apply for a tax refund immediately through the mobile app without using a kiosk. Immediate, post-purchase, medical, and accommodation refunds are all supported.

[Main Service Process]
1. Verification Service
Scan a QR code, check the details requested by the merchant (such as name or contact info), and tap "Confirm" to share your data securely.
2. Card Wallet Payment
Register a credit card (Visa, Mastercard, JCB, AMEX, Diners Club, or Discover), scan a merchant QR code, select your payment method, and complete the payment.
3. Passport QR
Generate a passport QR code and present it to merchants for quick offline verification.
4. KYC
Scan your passport's machine-readable zone (MRZ), verify it via ePassport NFC, and undergo face liveness matching.
5. Tax Refund
Scan the tax-refund receipt barcode (or type the receipt number manually), register the card to receive refunds, and apply for export clearance and refunds.
(Export clearance can only be done at the airport.)

Track What You Have Done: Review your verification and payment records by date, and receive push notifications when your refund status updates.

[Security and Your Data]
Eximbay does not store any user-provided information. All data is stored on the user's mobile device and is transmitted in encrypted form to relevant merchants and payment companies only when necessary and only with the user's consent. Sign-in credentials are kept in your device's secure storage, and you can lock the app with a passcode or biometrics.

[Good to Know]

EXIMPay+ is a free, comprehensive service for foreign users provided by Eximbay Co., Ltd.
However, when using 3G / LTE / 5G / roaming, additional data charges may apply depending on your mobile plan. An internet connection is required.
VAT refunds apply only to purchases that meet the requirements set by Korea's National Tax Service. Refund amounts and processing times vary by purchase, refund type, and card issuer.

This app is terrible. I was trying to pay for a Lotte Duty Free order and it just doesn’t work. The passport scanner kept getting my name wrong and took multiple tries. Then when it finally worked, my credit card was declined even though there was no issue. I ended up ordering from Shilla instead because they accept PayPal. Lotte will lose customers if they don’t fix this.

horrible password manager experience. declined my transaction with an empty error message. Now I can't even open the app, because a popup says that I have to update the app, however, I can't see any updates in Google Play.

The passport scanning step, needed to use the app, works really poorly. I had to try a dozen times before it finally worked and each scan takes 3 to 5 minutes! The process was so long that my phone would go to sleep and I had to start all over again. This needs to be massively improved.
