This application serves to generate one of the possible 960 starting positions of the chess variant Chess960 (Fischer-Random-Chess).
The rules are exactly the same as in standard chess. Because of a different starting position castling works a little bit different.

nice app. i wish we could increase or decrease the chess960 position number with just one tap tho. currently, there are only two ways to change this: a slider which gives a generalized number but horrible with pinpoint accuracy, and another way that pops up another scroll method with unit accuracy. but simple +1 and -1 buttons on the first screen wud be great. (and maybe +10 and -10 too. and +100 and -100?)

Works exactly as expected. For all the 1-star reviews complaining that you can't move the pieces, this is a chess960 starting position GENERATOR. When playing chess960 on a real board, it can be bothersome to try to randomize the starting position. This app is meant to do that for you; you are not meant to play on the app
