Messaging should be personal, private, and entirely within your control. Chamnesia is designed around a simple idea: you decide who can contact you, what information you share, and when a conversation ends.

COMPLETELY PRIVATE MESSAGING

Chamnesia does not require your name, phone number, email address, or other personally identifying information to create a profile. Your display name can be anything you choose.

There is no public directory, searchable username, or phone-number lookup. Other people cannot find your profile simply because they know who you are. Connections are established through private invitation codes instead.

END-TO-END ENCRYPTED

Your messages are encrypted on your device before being transmitted and decrypted only on the recipient's device.

Conversations are stored locally rather than kept as permanent message histories on Chamnesia's servers. Once delivered and processed, message instructions are removed from the server.

Chamnesia cannot read your encrypted conversations or retrieve your deleted message history. Your private encryption keys remain on your device.

CONNECT BY INVITATION ONLY

To connect with someone, create a private invitation code and share it with them however you prefer: in person, by text, or through another communication method.

Invitations can be one-time or reusable, making them suitable for individual contacts or groups. You can manage your invitation codes at any time, including disabling, re-enabling, or permanently deleting them.

You're always in control of who receives an invitation to connect with you.

NO UNSOLICITED MESSAGES

Traditional messaging platforms allow people to contact you using your phone number, email address, or a searchable profile. Chamnesia doesn't work that way.

Without a valid invitation and an established connection, someone cannot simply look you up and send you messages. This removes the usual entry point for unsolicited messages and spam.

DELETING CONVERSATIONS AND CONTACTS

Chamnesia gives you control over the information you leave behind. You can delete individual messages, clear an entire conversation, or remove a contact altogether.

When you choose a deletion option that applies to everyone, Chamnesia sends a secure instruction requesting that the corresponding messages or conversation be removed from the other person's device as well.

Once processed, deleted conversations cannot be restored through Chamnesia. Removing a contact also ends your connection with that person.
