Parental Controls and Android Accessibility Service

SALOMON includes a family plan with parental controls. On the supervised child's phone, and only there, this feature uses the Android AccessibilityService API.

What we use it for: to know which app is in the foreground and be able to block it when the parent or guardian adds it to their block list from their own SALOMON account, within the times that adult has configured.

What data it accesses: only the package name of the app that is in the foreground. The service is declared with `canRetrieveWindowContent="false"` and only listens for events of type `typeWindowStateChanged`, so it doesn't read screen content, text, form fields, passwords, or notifications.

What actions it performs: In addition to reading the name, the service returns the phone to the home screen (using `performGlobalAction` with `GLOBAL_ACTION_HOME`) to remove the child from a blocked app. That's the only action it performs, and it's only triggered by an app that the family policy is currently blocking: it doesn't perform gestures, fill in fields, write in other apps, or install or uninstall anything.

How this data is used: The name of the app that the accessibility service detects in the foreground is compared within the phone itself against the blocking policy, and this real-time flow is not sent to any server. It is only sent in one instance, and it is initiated by the child: if they tap "Request more time" from the lock screen, the name of that app—and only that one—is sent so that the adult managing the family plan can approve or deny it. Aside from that, and with its own notification within the app, the parental control does send SALOMON the list of apps installed on the monitored phone and the usage time for each app, which is what the adult needs to choose what to block and to view reports; both of these are declared in the Data Security section. None of this information is sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising or analytics.

The service is activated only on the monitored phone, after the user reads a prominent notification within the app and explicitly accepts it, and it can be deactivated at any time from SALOMON or from the Android settings. SALOMON is not declared as an accessibility tool (the manifest does not include `android:isAccessibilityTool="true")`: this API is used exclusively for the parental control described here.
