About this game

Tic-tac-toe, evolved. The board never gridlocks. The game never ends in a draw. The clock never stops ticking.

THE TWIST

Each player gets a limited number of pieces. Place them all on the grid, then move them turn by turn to form a line. Boards stay alive. Late-game still has tension. Stalemates don't exist. Games end with a winner.
If you have ever finished a tic-tac-toe game and felt nothing actually happened, this fixes that.

THE SHOT CLOCK

Starts at 30 seconds. Drops one second every turn. Floors at 5. By the late game you are picking moves on instinct. Beats the standing-around problem of classic tic-tac-toe and forces real decisions when the board gets crowded.

The clock visibly pulses as time runs out so you always know exactly where you stand.

PLAY MODES

VS AI. Three difficulties. Easy makes mistakes. Medium thinks ahead. Hard runs minimax and is genuinely hard to beat. Great for solo practice or a quick break.

LOCAL. Two humans, one device. Pass it back and forth after each move. Same shot clock applies. No internet needed.

RANDOM. Jump into an online match against a stranger anywhere on the platform. Anonymous, no signup, matches in seconds when other players are around.

FRIENDS. Send a shared link or an in-app invite. Auto-rematch when the game ends so you can keep playing without bouncing back to a menu. Works across devices.

LEVELS. Climb a ladder through bigger and bigger boards, all the way up to 7x7 with 7 pieces per side. Win to advance.

FEATURES

Grids scale from 3x3 up to 7x7. Pieces and win-length scale with the grid.

Save and resume any solo game from where you left off. The shot clock remembers how much time you had left.

Optional draw offers in online play. Both players have to accept.

Anonymous identity baked in. No email, no signup, no friction. Stats and progress persist on your device.

Optimistic move handling. Your move appears instantly even on a flaky connection. If the server fails to confirm, the move snaps back with a clear message instead of silently disappearing.

Network status badge. The app detects when your connection is degrading and tells you. When you go offline, it stops trying to make moves and waits for you to reconnect.

Tab visibility pause. Your phone locking will not eat your turn timer. The clock freezes when the tab is backgrounded and resumes when you come back.

Neon visual style with dark mode by default.

PERFECT FOR
Two-minute breaks. Couch matches with a friend. People who got bored of tic-tac-toe drawing every time. Strategy fans who want something simpler than chess but deeper than the grade-school version.

WHY THIS GAME EXISTS

Classic tic-tac-toe is a solved game. Two people who know what they are doing draw every time. Forever Tic Tac Toe takes the same simple grid and adds two changes that make it a real game again: pieces are limited, and they move. The result is something you can teach in ten seconds and still lose at after a hundred matches.

Designed for people who already mastered the 3x3 game and want a real fight.
