About this app
CodeMaster is a code editor for Android with Monokai syntax highlighting, an FTP/SFTP client and offline editing. Edit HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Python and SQL on your phone or tablet. Work with local files, remote servers or Windows SMB shares, review changes before syncing, and monitor servers over SSH.
EDIT CODE ANYWHERE
Work with Monokai-inspired syntax highlighting, line numbers, word wrap, an interactive minimap, code folding, visible tabs and spaces, search and replace, and language-specific quick tools.
Keep multiple files open—even from different connections—and switch between independent tabs without losing their navigation context. Open compatible files directly from Android's file picker or another app.
MULTI-LANGUAGE SUPPORT AND FILE FORMATS
Edit C, C++, C#, CSS, HTML, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, JSON, Laravel Blade, LaTeX, Markdown, PHP, Python, R, Ruby, SQL, VB, XML and YAML. Highlighting and quick tools also cover .env, shell, Dockerfile and configuration files.
New files use a template suited to their extension. Types without an example start empty. CodeMaster detects supported text encodings and line endings and preserves them when saving. You can explicitly change the format; unsupported characters are not silently replaced.
CONNECT TO SERVERS AND YOUR PC
Choose FTP, SFTP, explicit or implicit FTPS, SMB 2/3, WebDAV over HTTPS, or NFS v3. Connect to a Windows shared folder using SMB, or to a compatible NAS or server.
Setup instructions for each protocol explain services, ports, permissions and firewall settings. Test your connection while creating or editing it. Use trusted networks or a private VPN for SMB and NFS; plain FTP and NFS do not encrypt traffic.
MANAGE REMOTE PROJECTS
Navigate with interactive breadcrumbs, pin multiple project trees and return to saved folders. Create, rename and move files or folders, search recursively by name or content, and review deletion confirmations.
Use read-only mode per connection to prevent accidental changes. Follow transfers with visible progress, cancellation and resume when the server and protocol support it. Inspect CodeMaster temporary files, their locations and sizes.
WORK OFFLINE, SYNC WHEN READY
Download an encrypted folder copy to your device, open its files and save your edits locally. When the server is available again, manually review synchronization.
CodeMaster compares the original, your working copy and the remote version. Review conflicts, get the remote version, combine changes locally or confirm an upload. Deletions require confirmation. Copies are separate for each account on the device; synchronization is not automatic.
Offline copies support up to 1,000 files, 300 folders and 100 MB per copy, with a 32 MB limit per file. Empty folders are not reproduced.
MONITOR YOUR SERVERS
View basic connection information or live server metrics through SFTP/SSH: status, load, CPU, memory, disk, network and processes. Metrics refresh every five seconds when the server provides the required access.
SECURITY AND PRIVACY
Sign in with your CHC Ideas account or Google. Enable two-step verification and optionally protect access to the app with supported device biometrics, PIN or pattern. Verify SSH host fingerprints and receive a warning if they change.
Connection credentials, private keys and working files stay on your device. CodeMaster services retain the account information, connection names, purchases and subscriptions needed to provide the service.
