Chess, but the gods are watching.

Thanks for checking out Chessuranga! As you capture pieces you unlock magic powers, pass through pieces, become invincible, teleport, transform into other pieces. These powers are bestowed by the Navagraha, the nine celestial bodies of Hindu cosmology, who come to your aid as you battle their demon foes, the Asura.

Four modes to explore:
- Face Shukracharya — 1v1 vs the Guru of the Asuras
- Fight the Asura Horde — endless demons, endless respawns
- Daily Puzzle — a new cosmic challenge every day
- Tablet Mode — play a friend on one screen

I'm a one man band, and built this partly because I thought chess with special moves would be cool, and partly just to see if I could. It's been a great project and I hope to take it further. Multiplayer and proper human-created artwork are the dream, but beyond my resources for now.

Welcome to Chessuranga! This is the first launch version, and I'm excited to see what people think! It's Chess with magic powers drawn from ancient Hindu mythology. There are two modes vs the computer; one you can choose the difficulty, the other you face off against an opponent that respawns pieces. there's also a daily puzzle mode, and a mode for you to play against a friend locally.
