About this app

Strengthening Citizens Advocacy and Civic Engagement through Technology – SCACE-TECH is a project designed to promote public sector accountability through the identification and exposure of abandoned projects and advocating for their completion, recovery or prosecution of those responsible.

It is named Abandoned Projects Application simply known as AbP App.

The SCACE –Tech is a technologically driven accountability advocacy which enables the Executive, Legislature and citizens to use the App to track all abandoned projects, reach out to their elected representative and participate in subsequent budget process to avoid having new projects abandoned.
The App can also be used to track ongoing projects.

The project commenced its pilot in the five states of southeast Nigeria with the hope of covering the remaining 5 zones of Nigeria. The project will help you to see the real picture of the abandoned project, use tech map to locate the real place of the project, ask elected representatives questions and receive feedback.

The App contain photos of abandoned projects and will be able to lead visitors and users to the project location using the obtained location coordinates.
The App also has the contact details of elected representatives from the
abandoned project areas for possibility of citizens inquires.

The App is also connected to four dedicated social media platforms – Whatsapp, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter as well as a dedicated website that provides further platform for robust advocacy engagement, citizen to citizen awareness and development communication.
The App will also be used to deepened citizens economic and budget Knowledge to ensure that the rate of projects abandonment will go down. It will create community voices and actions against corruption driven by ease of interaction using the App.

The Abandoned Projects App (also known as AbP) was built by CCIDESOR to showcase and monitor abandoned projects in South-East Nigeria.

The project is funded by The Charter Project Africa, Goree institute and European Union.
