About this app

Chinmaya Mission Houston offers in this app, the Immortal Song of Bhagavan Sri Krishna – The Bhagavad Gita – two memorable styles that uplift listeners and seekers to unveil the essence of the Highest Knowledge.

The unique beauty of the Gita is that the Lord’s Celestial Song can be both chanted and sung. The purpose of this App is to present both options:

Traditional Chanting: This style of chanting is widely used by those who seek to learn the eternal Gita. Chanting each verse energizes both the intellect of seekers and the surroundings with divine vibrations. This empowers even those who are not highly trained in music. Recitation of the Gita and its inherent rhythm inspires everyone to easily hold in memory the great message and grow with the Gita.

Musical Chanting: The Bhagavad Gita – The Song Divine is truly spiritual music to our ears and our souls. With this view, musical chanting is presented in classical ragas of Hindustani music chosen to bring out the meaning and emotions of the chapters & verses. The musical composition, the singing, and the background music will literally make one feel Sri Krishna Bhagavan is speaking to you directly.

Please look into this on priority. 🚨 I’m not sure if this is a general bug or specific to my device, but on my Samsung S25 Ultra, none of the Chinmaya Mission apps (Gita365, Gita Chanting, Vedanta Daily, and Upanishad Daily) are working properly. When I play a video and pause it, the video stops but the audio continues. Additionally, if I move forward to any point in the video, a second audio starts playing from that point, resulting in two overlapping audio tracks.

In traditional style, once the chapter is selected, the serial number of shlokas is incorrect. Numbers 2 3 4 are repeated multiple times. Numbers are not in serial order. The classical style was much better in the earlier version. Regret that I updated to the latest version.

Superb app. Really blessed to hear thru this app Just two suggestions: 1. Can you also enable auto rotate so that we can see this in landscape mode too? 2. In portrait mode, it is not fitting into the screen. I have to scroll to the left to see the whole contents, which is not practical .
