ChordShuffle is a practice tool for developing musicians who want to
break free from physical shapes and patterns on their instrument and
start hearing and thinking in chords.
HOW IT WORKS
ChordShuffle plays chords through synthesised instruments while you
find the right notes — scales, chord tones, and arpeggios — on your
own instrument in real time. This forces your brain to process harmony
instead of relying on memorised finger shapes, which is how real
musical knowledge is built.
RANDOM CHORD MODE
Chords appear in unpredictable order so you can never anticipate what
comes next. You have to listen, identify, and find the notes on your
instrument under time pressure. This is one of the most effective
ways to develop true fretboard or keyboard fluency across all keys.
CHORD PROGRESSION MODE
Practice the most important chord progressions in jazz and Western
harmony — 2-5-1, 1-6-2-5, rhythm changes, and more — in rotating
keys. Besides building your improvisational vocabulary, this trains
your ear to recognize these progressions by sound, which is essential
for playing with other musicians and transcribing music.
JAZZ STANDARDS MODE
A dedicated feature for jazz musicians. Practice and improvise over
full chord charts for essential jazz standards. Set a loop
range to focus on any section of a tune.
