About this game

Which happened first? Timeline Trivia is a world history trivia challenge built around chronological order. Compare two historical events, choose the one that happened earlier, then reveal the exact historical dates and see where both belong on the timeline.

PUT HISTORY IN ORDER

Each match has 15 rounds, with seven seconds to answer. Every history question asks you to compare two events and decide which came first. After each choice, both dates are revealed, helping you connect famous events and build a stronger sense of chronology instead of simply memorizing isolated facts.

Explore more than 650 historical events spanning ancient history, medieval history and modern history. Topics include civilizations, wars, inventions, science, politics, art, culture, sports and space exploration.

PLAY SOLO OR CHALLENGE OTHERS

Practice against 10 bot difficulty levels, with solo bot matches available offline. When you want multiplayer trivia, enter ranked play or challenge a friend directly.

Ranked play uses asynchronous 1v1 trivia against another player's completed match, so you do not need to be online at the same time. Friend challenges work the same way, with no Rank Points at stake.

If your connection drops during a ranked match, your completed match is saved on your device and can upload after you reopen Timeline Trivia online.

DAILY HISTORY QUIZ

Return each day for the shared Daily Challenge. Everyone receives the same seeded daily history quiz, giving you a fresh set of historical events to put in order and a chance to add eligible events to your personal Timeline.

TIMELINE RUSH

Timeline Rush is 60 seconds of timed trivia built around the same “which came first?” mechanic. Answer as many event comparisons as possible before time expires. Correct answers earn Rank Points and mistakes deduct them, making speed and historical knowledge equally important.

BUILD YOUR ATLAS AND TIMELINE

Strong 1v1 wins make correctly answered events eligible for your Atlas. Use Gems to unlock more than 80 regions across the world map and build a collection tied to the history you have answered correctly.

Success in the Daily Challenge can also make events eligible for your personal Timeline. Together, the Atlas and Timeline give the events and historical dates you encounter a lasting place beyond the match score.

CLIMB THE RANKS

Progress through 11 ranks from Amateur to Chronos, compete on leaderboards and complete achievement tracks. Collect 300 illustrated history cards, unlock cosmetic titles and choose visual themes for your matches.

Loss Shields can prevent Rank Point loss after a defeat, while Double Ups can increase positive Rank Points from a win.
