About this app

Chunkbook turns the phrases you could not say in conversation and the foreign sentences you come across into "your own AI phrasebook" and keeps them in review until you can say them.

■ Adding phrases is easy
Paste, speak or write. AI analyzes the sentence in about 10 seconds and creates a natural example sentence and the phrases worth remembering. Sentences you write yourself are corrected on the spot and your original text is kept.

■ Review quiz right before you forget
Anki-style spaced repetition (SM-2) sets the next due date for every card. A few minutes a day is enough.

■ Instant Speaking gets it out of your mouth
See the meaning and say it out loud within the time limit. Phrases you could not say come back until you can. AI checks your speech and records what you said and what you could not say.

■ Listen and shadow
Play the translation and the target language back to back. Background playback is supported and you can control it from the lock screen, so your commute or chores become study time.

■ One question a day
A question tailored to your phrasebook arrives once a day. What you could not say becomes study material and comes back a few days later.

■ 4 languages, 12 pairs
Choose any pair from Japanese, English, Chinese and Korean. Switch phrasebooks and study several languages side by side.

■ Ready to use from day one
Starter packs by genre (daily conversation, business, travel) let you start today. Anki decks (.apkg) and CSV files can be imported, and you can export from Chunkbook whenever you want to take your cards elsewhere.

■ Widgets and review reminders
Home screen widgets show what is left today and your streak. You can also set the time of your review reminder.

Chunkbook has two plans. The free plan keeps manual phrase entry and review quizzes unlimited, and one question a day always arrives. AI features on the free plan cover 10 sentence analyses, 10 Instant Speaking questions and 30 speech checks per month. If you want to study more, the Standard plan (¥780/month, tax included: 100 analyses, 100 Instant Speaking questions, 300 speech checks) is available.
