About this app

ServerBridgeX turns your Android phone or tablet into a bridge between a TCP/IP network and serial equipment.

Plug in a USB-to-serial adapter with an OTG cable, start the server, and any client on your network can talk to that equipment as if it were wired directly to it.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Connect your USB-to-serial adapter with an OTG cable and grant permission.
2. Open the device configuration and set baud rate, data bits, parity and stop bits.
3. Tap the play button to start the TCP server. Your IP and port appear in the Summary tab.
4. Point your clients at that address and data starts flowing both ways.

WHO IT IS FOR

Built for technicians, integrators and maintenance staff working with industrial equipment: DNP3 RTUs and masters, Modbus devices, PLCs, meters, scales, barcode readers and anything with RS-232 or RS-485 behind a USB adapter.

It is especially handy when the serial equipment sits in the field and you need to reach it from a laptop or tablet over the network, without running cable.

REQUIREMENTS

• Android 8.0 or later.
• An OTG cable and a supported USB-to-serial adapter (FTDI, Prolific, Silicon Labs, CH34x and CDC/ACM chipsets).
• Client and server must be on the same network.
