About this app

PingApp is a terminal-style network diagnostics toolbox designed for system administrators, developers, networking students, and anyone curious about what’s happening with their connection.

Type commands just like in a traditional console—or tap quick actions and the command menu to fill them in for you—and get real-time results with streaming output that you can cancel, copy, or share.

INCLUDED TOOLS
• ping — reachability and latency over TCP connections (works on any mobile device, no root required); real ICMP mode via the system binary when available.
• traceroute — hop-by-hop path to the destination (system binary or TCP-TTL probing).
• dns — A, AAAA, MX, TXT, NS, CNAME, SOA, and SRV records, plus reverse PTR lookup.
• http — HTTP/HTTPS probe: status code, headers, redirects, timings, and TLS certificate details.
• portscan — concurrent TCP port scanner with ranges, top-100 preset, progress tracking, and rate limiting.
• whois — WHOIS lookup over TCP/43 with referral following and registrar data.
• subnet — CIDR subnet calculator (mask, network, broadcast, and host range).
• ifconfig / ip — interfaces, addresses, MTU, gateway, DNS, and routes of the active network.
• netstat — visible sockets from /proc/net (limited by the system on Android 10+).
• wifi — Wi-Fi link details (SSID, BSSID, RSSI, frequency) with location permission.
• ipinfo — public IP and approximate geolocation.

DESIGNED FOR DAILY USE
• Hybrid interface: terminal + quick action chips + command drawer.
• Command autocomplete and recent host suggestions.
• History and recent hosts stored only on your device.
• Copy and share output with one tap.
• Dark terminal theme with a monospace font.

PRIVACY
No ads, no accounts, no tracking. PingApp only contacts the hosts you specify when running a command. Your history and recent hosts never leave your device.

TECHNICAL NOTES
PingApp is designed for standard Android (no root): socket-, DNS-, and HTTP-based tools are first-class; ICMP ping, traceroute, and netstat run in “best effort” mode with transparent alternatives when limited by the platform.

LEGAL NOTICE
Use these tools only on networks and services you own or have explicit permission to test. Port scanning and probing third-party systems may violate your provider’s terms or local laws. You are responsible for how you use the app.
