Circle of Joy brings five Bahá’í games to any gathering. The host opens a room on their phone; everyone else points a camera at the code on the screen and plays in their browser. No downloads, no Circle of Joy accounts, no sign-ups for guests. Players can join from iPhones or Android phones because only the host installs anything.
Gameplay runs entirely on your own Wi-Fi network or phone hotspot, without an internet connection during play. It works in a community centre with no signal just as well as it does at home. Internet is needed only to download question updates or send a support report.
Five games, deliberately different from one another:
• Question Quiz — a quiz on the calendar, history, teachings and holy places. Answer fast, answer right.
• Virtues Charades — act a virtue out in front of everyone while the room guesses on their phones.
• Clue Detectives — a cooperative puzzle where every phone holds a different clue. Nobody can see the whole problem, so the only way through is to talk to each other.
• Passage Builder — a passage arrives scrambled and you put it back together, word by word.
• Consultation — four things a community might really talk about. The room chooses one, quietly and together, and the conversation is the game. No score, no winner.
Every game plays at three levels — children, junior youth and adults — so the same app works for a children’s class, a junior youth group, a family evening or a gathering of friends. Play in English or Arabic, with full right-to-left support. Every quotation names its source.
Put a laptop or TV with a compatible web browser on the same network and it becomes the big screen for the room, showing the game while phones act as the controllers.
Privacy is part of how the room works. No Circle of Joy accounts. No advertising. No analytics. Gameplay stays on your local network. Player names and photos remain on the host’s phone while the room is open and are removed when it closes. Support reports are sent only when you choose to send them, and an email address is optional. The app checks for new or corrected questions when internet is available; without it, you keep playing with the content already downloaded.
Only the host needs the app. Everyone else joins and plays in their browser, with nothing to install.
Circle of Joy is an independent app made for Bahá’í communities. It is not published by, endorsed by or affiliated with any Bahá’í institution.
