Terminal power, in your pocket.
TermKey is a software keyboard built for Termux, SSH clients (JuiceSSH, ConnectBot) and anyone who types code on a phone. Esc, Tab, Ctrl, Alt, arrows, F-keys and a snippet/macro system are first-class keys — not buried three layers deep.
REAL MODIFIER KEYS
Ctrl, Alt and Shift latch for the next key (tap) or lock (double-tap), and send proper hardware-style key events. Termux sees a real ^C, not a unicode lookalike. Readline shortcuts, vim, tmux, emacs — they all just work.
TERMINAL KEY ROW
Esc · Tab · Ctrl · Alt plus four configurable symbol keys sit above QWERTY, so you can type cd ~/ | grep without a single layer switch.
FIVE LAYERS, ONE TAP AWAY
• Main — QWERTY with number & symbol hints on every key
• Symbols — the full set, arranged for code
• Nav — arrows, Home/End, PgUp/PgDn, word-jump, Del
• Fn — F1 through F12
• Macros — your snippets as keys
SNIPPETS & MACROS
Built-in shell and git commands plus your own, managed in-app and inserted with one tap. git add . && git commit is a key now.
GESTURES
Slide on the space bar to move the cursor. Hold backspace or arrows to repeat. Long-press any key to type its hint character.
CLIPBOARD HISTORY
TermKey remembers what you copy while typing; pin what matters and re-paste that gnarly one-liner from twenty minutes ago.
MADE FOR BIG SCREENS
On foldables and tablets (window width ≥ 840dp) the key area automatically centers with side gutters so keys keep a sane width and stay thumb-reachable. Verified on the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.
HACKER-DARK THEME
Near-black blue, monospace key labels, five accent colors, optional key borders, adjustable key height.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
TermKey requests NO network permission — the OS itself guarantees it cannot send your keystrokes anywhere. No telemetry, no analytics, no ads, no subscriptions. The core keyboard is free; Swipe Typing is a single one-time unlock ($9.79). Type in peace.
