HideBin is a private gallery for the photos, videos and notes you don't want sitting in your camera roll. Everything is encrypted on your phone before it's saved, so your files are only ever stored in a form that only you can unlock.
NO ACCOUNT, NO SERVER
HideBin has no server of its own. Your vault lives in the app's private storage on your phone and, if you choose, in your own Google Drive. You don't sign up for anything. Your passphrase never leaves your device, and we can't see your files or recover them for you.
STRONG, MODERN ENCRYPTION
• AES-256-GCM encryption for every photo, video, note and thumbnail
• Argon2id turns your passphrase into a key, which makes guessing it slow and expensive
• File names, albums and dates are encrypted too, not just the files themselves
A GALLERY THAT FEELS LIKE A GALLERY
• Library grouped by month, newest first
• Albums, and albums inside albums
• Private albums with their own passphrase, which stay sealed even while the vault is open
• Favorites, photo rotation and a full-screen viewer
• Videos stream straight from the encrypted vault, with no decrypted copy written to storage
• Write encrypted notes, or view and edit text files
• Select several items to move or delete them at once
• Duplicate detection skips files you've already added
ADD FILES YOUR WAY
• Pick photos and videos with the Android photo picker, so HideBin doesn't need access to all your storage
• Add files from any folder and keep their original names
• Share photos, videos and text to HideBin from other apps
SYNC WITH YOUR OWN GOOGLE DRIVE (OPTIONAL)
Connect Google Drive to back up your vault and keep it in sync across devices. Only encrypted data is uploaded. HideBin can only see the files it created in your Drive, not the rest of your Drive. To open your vault on a new phone, connect Drive and unlock it. Your files download as you open them.
BUILT FOR PRIVACY
• Screenshots, screen recording and the recent apps preview are blocked
• Auto-lock after 1, 5, 15 or 30 minutes of inactivity
• A recovery key, shown once when you create your vault, lets you back in if you forget your passphrase
• Change your passphrase or get a new recovery key at any time
• Erase the vault from this device, or from everywhere including Drive
• Usage statistics and crash reports are off unless you turn them on, and nothing is collected while your vault is unlocked
IMPORTANT
Keep your passphrase and recovery key safe. If you lose both, nobody can open your vault, including us. That's the point.
Works with the HideBin web app: a vault created on one opens on the other from the same Google Drive.
