Photos with soul. Clack is a film camera for your phone, with natural color, film grain and no AI. See the look live in the viewfinder before you press.
Your phone has a real camera sensor. Use it like one. Most phone cameras merge a dozen frames, smooth skin, lift the shadows, rebuild skies and invent detail, until every photo looks the same. Clack takes the frame your sensor saw when you pressed and develops it the way film builds a picture: the film's own curves, dye layers, grain and glow. Not a filter laid over a finished photo, and no vintage costume: no fake light leaks, no date stamps.
EIGHT FILMS AND A DIGICAM
Portrait 400 for soft, warm skin. Minilab 400 for the corner-lab snapshot. Golden 200 for summer prints. Vivid 100 for saturated landscapes. Chroma 64 for the rich color of an old slide. Cinema 500T for night streets, a red glow round every light. Press 400 and Street 400 in black and white. Each is based on a real film and modeled on its published data, and each has a datasheet in the app: the film's story, its curves, its color and its grain. Grain sized as 35mm film's, so it reads as texture, not noise. Beside them, the Digicam: a digital compact from around 2000, for flash at night.
A LOOK FOR EVERY MOMENT
Fourteen recipes come with the camera, each named for when to reach for it: Warm Skin for people in daylight, Golden Hour for the evening sun, Disposable for days out, Streetlight for the city at night, Y2K for a night out with the flash on. Swipe up the looks and every recipe stands as a box on a shelf over the live finder; swipe to one and the finder shows it.
MAKE ONE YOUR OWN
A recipe is a film and a few choices, in the order light travels: the light, the lens, the film. White balance, a soft bloom round the highlights, a polarizer, a disposable camera's plastic lens, contrast, color, grain and halation, each named for what it changes in the picture. Harder contrast is a roll pushed two stops, so the shadows and the grain move with it. With Clack Pro, save as many as you like under your own names and give each a box; share any recipe as a card with every setting.
EDIT ANY PHOTO
Clack keeps each photo's original: put another recipe on it later, change any setting, or crop it.
A CAMERA IN YOUR HAND
A point-and-shoot by default: the camera sets shutter and ISO, and exposure compensation is the one control, -2 to +2 in thirds, with a click under your thumb. AE-L locks it so you can recompose. Switch to M to see the shutter and ISO it chose, and set either on a wheel. Tap to focus and autofocus follows that spot; AF-L holds it. Turn on manual focus for a ring that shows what will be sharp, near to far. A live histogram, a self-timer, flash. No shutter lag: Clack saves the frame exposed when your finger touched. The volume keys fire the shutter, and its leaf-shutter click stays silent when your phone is.
VIDEO AND SELFIES
Switch to video and the film and its grain are in every frame. The selfie camera is a mirror as you frame, and its flash is the screen.
YOUR PHOTOS
Saved to DCIM/Clack like any camera's, so your gallery and backup apps see them. Turn on RAW for a DNG beside each JPEG, to develop on a computer.
WHAT CLACK LEAVES OUT
No multi-frame merging, no scene AI, no face retouching. Your phone's chip still sharpens and denoises lightly, but every photo is a single exposure. No account and no ads, and your photos stay on your phone. Anonymous usage data (which films and settings get used) helps Clack improve; turn it off in Settings.
CLACK PRO
Your first seven days of shooting have everything. After that, the whole camera, video and one film of your choice with its recipes stay free, and you can change that film once a month. Clack Pro opens every film, your own recipes, Edit and RAW: a one-time purchase or a monthly subscription.
Clack is a film camera app for Android, built on Camera2. Manual focus, flash and RAW appear only when your phone's camera offers them.
