FireBook is a fire safety logbook for the person responsible for a building.
It keeps the recurring duties in one place, works out what is due and when, and keeps the records ready to share when they are needed.
WHAT IT DOES
• This Week board — with every due or overdue duty on one screen
• Call point rotation — under BS 5839-1, weekly testing commonly rotates through a different manual call point. FireBook tracks which points have been covered, tells you which one is up this week, and shows the weeks where no test was recorded
• Guided fire door checks, including gaps, seals, closers, hinges, leaf and glazing, and signage — plus emergency lighting flick and duration tests, extinguisher visual checks and services, drills and staff training
• Defect register — a failed check raises a defect that stays open until you record the action taken, with the date and who did it
• Asset registers — call points, emergency lights, fire doors and extinguishers, each with its reference, location, photo and service dates
• Year ledger — a 52 week view of the weekly alarm test, so a missed week is visible instead of buried in a list
• Inspector Pack — one PDF with the duty history, the rotation record, the asset registers and the defect log, ready to hand over or email
• Reminders for any duty, set to the day and time that suits the building
• Works offline. Your records are kept on your device.
WHO IT IS FOR
For landlords, managing agents, block caretakers, premises officers and small business owners who keep fire safety records.
In England, the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 require quarterly checks of communal fire doors in relevant multi-occupied residential buildings over 11 metres. FireBook schedules that alongside everything else.
WHAT IT IS NOT
FireBook keeps fire safety records and helps you spot due and overdue checks. It does not assess fire risk, certify compliance, or replace the advice of a competent person or a fire risk assessor. The duties and intervals it suggests are common UK defaults — the correct ones for your building come from its fire risk assessment.
