MapSix is a daily geography game and city guessing puzzle. Each day, name a city from an unlabeled map showing coastlines, rivers, lakes, roads, urban areas and relief. You have six tries to guess the city.
WHAT IT DOES
One map a day
- A new map at midnight where you are, with the same map for every player on that day
- Map details include coastlines, rivers, lakes, relief, roads and urban areas, with the labels removed
- Pinch to look closer at any detail
Every miss points the way
- Each wrong guess shows how far away the answer is and an arrow pointing toward it
- Distances in kilometers or miles
- Type any of about 3,000 cities, in your language or in English
Geography clues after every miss
- Continent, then population band, then a wider view of the region, then the country, then the first letter
- The clues come in the same order every day, so the game is fair from one day to the next
The reveal
- Solved or not, the map fills in with the city's name and its neighbors
- A short line on the place: whether it is the capital, how many people live there, and whether it sits on the coast
Share your grid
- Six squares that show how many tries you needed and never give the answer away
- Copy it as text or share it as an image
Stats and streaks
- Games played, win rate, current and best streak
- How many guesses each win took
- A monthly calendar of every day you played
Archive and practice
- Play past daily maps from the archive
- Practice maps that are never a daily, so practice never spoils a future puzzle
WHO IT IS FOR
Anyone who enjoys geography games, map quizzes, travel or a short daily puzzle. Guess the city, then share your six-square result with friends or family without revealing the answer.
HOW IT IS SET UP
Today's map, stats and sharing are available without the unlock, with a small banner ad on the stats and archive screens and after you finish the day's map, never while you play. A one-time purchase opens the archive and practice maps and removes the ads.
No account, no sign-in. Your guesses and stats stay on your phone. Maps are drawn from Natural Earth, public domain map data.
Available in English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Hindi, Arabic, Japanese, Korean and Chinese.
