PulseStand is a POTS symptom tracker and dysautonomia diary for recording your pulse lying down and then standing up. A guided timer walks you through it, works out the rise, and keeps every test so you can see how it moves from week to week.
The stand test
Lie down and rest for the time you choose (3, 5 or 10 minutes, or set your own). Take your pulse by hand or read it off your watch and type it in. Then stand still, and the timer takes you to the 1, 3, 5 and 10 minute marks one at a time. PulseStand shows the rise from lying to standing as one number, with your lying pulse and your peak standing pulse beside it. Blood pressure is optional at the start and the end. If you need to stop, stop and sit down. Readings already entered are saved, including those from an incomplete test.
Fluids and salt
Type the daily fluid and salt targets your clinician gave you (PulseStand never suggests one). Add a glass or a bottle with one tap, or save your own quick adds, like the electrolyte sachet you buy, with the fluid and sodium from its label. Two bars show where you are today. Show salt as grams of salt or milligrams of sodium, and fluid in ml or ounces.
Symptoms and flare days
Log dizziness, palpitations, fatigue, brain fog, nausea and more, with a 1 to 5 severity, the time, your position and the triggers you suspect (heat, standing, a big meal, a hot shower, poor sleep, your own). Mark flare days and see them on a month calendar. Add a short daily note about how your symptoms affected your day.
For your appointment
Pick a date range and PulseStand makes a PDF: every stand test in a table, how often each symptom came up and how bad it was, flare days, fluid and salt averages, and your medication list as you typed it. The report is in English.
Every entry can be edited later, and you can type in a test you did somewhere else.
Pro
The standard version covers the stand test, fluids and salt, symptoms and flare days, with a small banner on the Symptoms tab. Pro adds the doctor PDF, trends (your rise by week, symptoms by time of day and by trigger, how often you reached your targets), stand test charts beyond 30 days, a medication and compression log, and stand test and medication reminders, and removes ads. Nothing you have logged is ever locked or hidden on the standard version.
Private and offline
No account and no sign up. Your readings and notes stay on your phone. Ads and crash reports go through Google services, as listed in the data safety section. Back up everything to one file and restore it on a new phone.
PulseStand keeps the numbers you type and works out differences between them. It does not diagnose POTS, grade results or give medical advice, and it is not a clinical stand or tilt test. Your clinician sets your targets and your plan.
Who it's for: people living with POTS, orthostatic intolerance or other dysautonomia, including after COVID, who want their readings in one place before the next appointment.
