About this app

ReviveShot restores old photographs. Lay a faded print on the table and take a photo, or pick scans from your gallery. The app finds the edges of the print and straightens it, then an AI image model on our server restores the photo by repairing visible damage and sends the result back. Drag the slider to see the original and the restored picture on one screen.

WHAT IT DOES

Photograph a print, not just a scan
Take a photo of a print lying on a table and ReviveShot finds its four corners and corrects the angle, so the picture comes out flat and square. If a corner is off, drag it into place, or rotate the print. A warning appears when a reflection is covering part of the picture, so you can take it again before restoring.

Choose what to fix
Restore old photos with scratches, dust, creases and stains. Reduce softness and blur in faded prints. Add colour to a black and white photo. A face option asks the model to leave faces as they are and only clean damage from them. Restore up to ten prints in one go.

AI colour, labelled as AI
Colour is added by an AI model. It generates likely colours from what is in the photo, so it is a guess, not a record of the real colours, and the app says so wherever colour is used. Every restored file is labelled as AI-restored in its details.

Before and after
Drag the handle across the picture to compare, or show the two side by side. Share the before and after as one image, with a caption if you like, or save the restored picture to your gallery.

A library of your prints
Every original stays next to its restored picture. Sort them into albums such as a family album, a wedding or a holiday. Restore the same print again with other choices and keep both to compare. Export the whole library as one zip file.

Credits for unfinished restores
If a restore does not finish, the credit it used is put back automatically. Your history shows every restore and every credit returned.

Report a result
Every restored picture has a report button. If a result changed a person, looks wrong or is offensive, send it for review from inside the app.

Your photos stay yours
A print is sent to our server only to be restored. The upload is deleted as soon as the restore finishes, and the restored copy as soon as your phone has saved it, 24 hours at most. You never sign up with a name or email: the app uses an anonymous install ID, and your library lives on your phone. Delete everything, on the phone and on our server, from Settings at any time.

Anyone with a shoebox of old prints, a family album to preserve, a genealogy project, or a photo to bring back for a birthday or a memorial.

ReviveShot uses generative AI to repair and colour photos. Results depend on the print. The model is instructed to repair the existing photo and not to add or remove people, but AI restoration can change small details.
