About this app

WHAT IT DOES

TyreProof is an offline job sheet for the mobile tire fitter. It records what
you found and what you did, corner by corner, and produces the sheet the
customer keeps. It is a commercial record. It is not a compliance document and
it does not certify a vehicle roadworthy.

Corner by corner
- Tap a corner on the car to record what happened there
- The corner is stored physically, so left front is left front in every region.
Only the label changes: LF, RF, LR and RR in the US, NSF, OSF, NSR and OSR in
the UK
- Replaced, repaired, rotated, inspected, or pressure only
- Tread off the tire you took away, the pressure you set and the torque you used
- The DOT code recorded exactly as you read it off the sidewall, never turned
into a date
- Photographs on arrival and when finished

The tread figure, stated honestly
- The reading is compared against the figure the sheet names, and the sheet
prints that figure in full
- US: 2/32 in in most states. Two states set a lower figure and seven set none
at all, and the sheet says so. The app never calls it a federal minimum,
because there is no federal minimum for a private car
- UK: 1.6 mm across a continuous band comprising the central three quarters of
the breadth of the tread and its entire circumference
- Motorcycles and vehicles over 3,500 kg are set different figures and are
deliberately not covered, rather than quoted the car figure
- Every reading is labelled a single point measurement, because it is not a
survey of the whole circumference
- The app never says a tire is legal or illegal

Units that do not drift
- Millimetres or 32nds, psi or bar, Nm or lb-ft
- Each region's minimum is held in the unit that region legislates in, so
neither figure is a rounded copy of the other
- Changing a unit converts what is on screen. It never rewrites what you typed
- A job you have already finished keeps the figure it was judged against

The rest of the round
- Customers and their vehicles, found by registration or by name
- The torque figure is always YOURS. There is no torque database and the app
will never suggest a value, because specs vary by vehicle, wheel and stud and
a wrong figure can lose a wheel
- Takings for this month, the last thirty days or the last seven, counting
finished jobs only
- A job sheet built from the record, with your business name, logo and
signature at the foot
- Backup and restore in one file holding every job, photograph and signature

- Anyone who hands a customer a written sheet after the work

YOUR RECORDS STAY ON YOUR DEVICE

Customers, vehicles, jobs and photographs are stored on the phone. There is no
account and no sign in. The app does send crash reports and anonymous usage
statistics, and the standard tier shows ads.

SCOPE

TyreProof is a record keeping tool. It is not an inspection service and it is
not legal advice. It compares a depth you measured against a figure it names,
and the figure that governs is the one where you work.
