About this app

Climbing Conditions helps you find the best days and places to climb at crags across Europe.

On the map, the number on each crag marker is a condition score (0–100) for the day you selected — higher means better expected rock climbing conditions. Tap a crag for detail, charts, and a 14-day outlook.

How scoring works

Each score estimates how good climbing conditions are likely to be at that crag on a given day. The model combines:

• Weather — temperature, humidity, wind, rain and snow, cloud cover, and recent drying history
• Sun and aspect — how much sun hits the wall and when (local daylight)
• Rock type — limestone, sandstone, granite, and other types behave differently in wet, humid, or cold weather
• Safety gates — hard limits for clearly bad situations (e.g. wet sandstone, storms, ice)

Scores are computed hour by hour in local crag time; the daily headline is the best hour that day. Charts on the crag page show how conditions change through the day.
