The Ontario Association of Medical Radiation Sciences (OAMRS) was incorporated in 1935 and is a non-profit professional association that supports the Medical Radiation Sciences profession. OAMRS is a registered educational institute, recognized both federally and provincially, and provides professional education across Canada, the United States and around the world through corporate training, certifications, online courses, webinars and face-to-face and virtual seminars and conferences. The Association is the recognized advocate and voice for approximately 12,000 Medical Radiation Technologists (MRTs) and Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (DMSs) in Ontario and works with various levels of government and regulatory authorities at the provincial and federal levels. In addition to education and advocacy, the OAMRS also provides medical imaging professionals with access to comprehensive professional liability insurance (PLI), offers professional consulting and is involved in setting professional standards and advancing the profession.
